The Battle of Hong Kong Memorial Huts

For the Architecture Competition "RE:FORM New Life for Old Spaces"

New Situated atop the historic Devil’s Peak, this scheme serves as a spatial memorial to the Battle of Hong Kong. The design is structured around two primary symbolic axes: the first points toward Ah Kung Ngam, marking the initial landing site of the enemies, while the second aligns with the Sai Wan War Cemetery to honor the soldiers who sacrificed their lives. By bridging the site of the first strike with the place of final rest, the project creates a dialogue between the onset of conflict and its human cost.
